Crock Salt Glaze COBALT BLUE DECO Mogadore Ohio sgd. 13" tall - oval at top : 10" x 10.5. Amazing 1840-50's Israel M. Mead stoneware crock, with extensive cobalt blue decoration.

Mr Mead did pots in Mogadore, Ohio until the early 1850's, after which he closed his business and more or less disappeared. Few pots of his survive; this one is especially beautiful. Please look over photos carefully as they comprise the bulk of the description. Two minor hairlines, very tight; chip on inside of upper rim and on left-facing ear handle, and some other minor dings (see photos).

Buyers, Please Note: The items I sell are "used, " or "formerly owned, " or "vintage, " or perhaps antique. NONE OF THESE ITEMS ARE EVER 100% PERFECT - they may have slight signs of wear, - scratches, dimples, bumps, rubs, etc. Even brand new items have some imperfections - and these old eyes may miss some once in a while. So I rarely use the word "PERFECT" when describing items that I sell - because if you look hard enough a flaw can be found in anything. I strive to accurately describe what I sell.

If I spy a damage or a major imperfection I will clearly state it and if possible photograph it for the listing, too. However, some'flaws' are not damage - they are either normal signs of usage or a condition inherent in the item, like the fine cracks in an oil painting: the older the item, the more likely these signs of usage will be in evidence. Some may be too small to be photographed. I strive to find and mention these conditions - but if I miss something you find to be significant please just bring it to my attention and we will work it out to your 100% satisfaction.

My buyers' opinion is very important to me. That said, I cannot offer you'perfect' items unless they are new, unopened, or in their original packaging from the factory - so please do not expect'perfection' UNLESS the item is described as MINT - NEW IN BOX!

A vintage or antique item will be described fully and as accurately by me as I can but I may miss something by accident. And I usually will not offer discount for you to keep it. Ave ALL packing materials and the original box, 4 Be prepared to take photographs of the damaged item AND the box + packing because this may be required by the carrier for a claim to be processed.
