This is an original antique (mid to late 19th century) 2 gallon stoneware butter churn with salt glaze on the outside, Albany slip glaze on the inside, and a bold cobalt blue flower decoration on the front. Condition is excellent; there are absolutely no cracks anywhere but there are a couple chips along the top edge on the back side. The churn has a very slight lopsidedness along the top edge; a defect that happened in the factory.
