Antique, Salt-Glaze, Cobalt-Blue, Stoneware Butter Crock with Original Lid and Handle Nelson McCoy "Swastika" Design. This antique, cobalt-blue, salt-glaze, stoneware pitcher shows a swastika on each side.

Item is 5" inches tall and 6" in diameter. Good condition, considering the age. Very solid, with no chips and minimal crazing. No cracks in the crock. One crack in the lid.

Metal handle is original, as best I can tell, and rotates freely from side to side, with no bends or other damage. Crock and Lid fit well together. I would not assume that it will hold liquid.

See photos for complete condition. Likely made in the 1920s by Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Company of Ohio. There were several manufactures in Ohio who made this pattern in the 1920s, including the Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Company, the Crooksville Pottery Company, and Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery Company.

Is a geometrical figure and an ancient religious icon in the cultures of Eurasia. It is used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions, especially Hinduism. In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck, used widely by Native Americans. Only in the 1930s did it became a feature of Nazi symbolism as an emblem of the so-called Aryan race.

I know some people are offended by the sale of items including the Swastika symbol. Please note that this item is NOT from Germany or promoting the Nazi Party of Germany from WW-II. It is an early 1900s American design and manufacture.

I do NOT advocate any of the positions of Nazis or Neo-Nazis or Aryans. If you are offended by these items.

I always do my best to accurately describe and photograph all items. However, these items are one of a kind and I only sell AS IS. Buyers remorse is not a reason for a return. Always refer to the pictures for condition and ensure you ask any questions before purchasing. I have no control over those decisions nor the costs.
