Antique Rare EW Farrington 2 Gal Stoneware Jug in blue Floral Slip NY C 1890
Rare and beautiful 2 gallon salt glazed jug with a daisy or black eyed Susan floral slip decoration and maker's mark, E. Farrington & Co, Elmira N. 1890s, in very good condition, with no cracks, hairlines, and only one small chip on the rim (see pics) and some minor blistering of the slip that occurred during firing and is both original and stable (see pics).
Stunning and very hard to find; the floral slip in blue is beautiful. About 8.75 inches in diameter. Opening on top is about 1 1/8 inches diameter. Weight is about 8 pounds not counting packing materials. It's heavy and large so I won't be too far off.
