Antique Shenfelder Reading PA Ovoid Stoneware Jug Crock w Cobalt 2 Gal 19th C

  

For your consideration is an antique 19th century salt glazed stoneware jug with cobalt blue decoration of ovoid form with applied handle. Shenfelder Pottery, Reading, Pennsylvania, circa 1870. This beautiful ovoid form jug is of 2 gallon size with impressed D. Above a number 2 to the front just below the neck. Height 14"; widest diameter 10"; diameter of base 6.5"; length across handle 10.5".

Unfortunately there is some restoration to this piece, that being the handle has been broken and reattached in two places (as illustrated in my photos). There is also a very tight crows foot to the upper left of the cobalt floral decoration (also illustrated in my photos).
