Stoneware Storage Crock with multiple Cobalt decorations, 2-Gallon capacity, Mid-Atlantic US origin, c. Note : There a several form and decoration attributes that would strongly indicate Pennsylvania origin; Ive heard everything from Remmey to Pfaltzgraff.. Wheel-thrown and well-potted form with heavily tooled and Incised shoulder, slightly flared base and (large)applied lug handles.

Decorated on both sides : First, with freehand Brushed Cobalt Stripes and primitive Vertical Vines; the other with a Spitting Tulip on a Fern-like Stem. Both with tremendous Folk Art appeal. In addition, each handle terminal is highlighted with a heavy cobalt accent. Gray, Salt-Glazed exterior; Mineral Slip interior.

Condition : Several small chips about the rim, and some vertical food stains on the body, as shown; otherwise in Very Good to Excellent, undamaged condition with strong color throughout. Consider this win as two crocks, for the price of one. Inherent glaze, surface and firing imperfections noted for complete descriptive accuracy. See photos for complete details and close-ups.

Please consider them as part of the description. Approximate 2-Gallon capacity; measures 10-3/4H x 11-1/2W overall, including the handles. The inner and outer rim diameters are 9 and 10, respectively. This Keeper is relatively heavy at 12.8 lbs! Good Luck, thanks for watching, and be sure to bookmark my Auctions, listed and ending daily.
