Description : A Slip-Decorated Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, 2-Gallon capacity, New England origin, ca. Wheel-thrown, cylindrical form with tooled rim and applied lug handles. Impressed below the rim with a cobalt-washed stamp: S. And a capacity mark below.

Front features a stylized Floral Plume in Slip-Trailed Cobalt. Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany or Mineral Slip interior.

Condition : This Crock survives in Very Good to Excellent, essentially as-made condition with expected rim and base wear consistent with age and use. Typical surface, glaze and firing imperfections noted for complete descriptive accuracy. No cracks, repaired damage or restoration work. Very clean inside and out. See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. Desirable 2-Gallon capacity; measures 10-1/4W x 9H overall with a base diameter of 9-1/2.
