Description : An impressive Slip-Decorated Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird, 3-Gallon capacity, New England origin, ca. Wheel-thrown, cylindrical form with tooled rim and applied lug handles.

Impressed above the decoration with a cobalt-washed stamp reading: F. See Internet for further information on Frank Nortons central Massachusetts manufactory.

Front features a left-facing, signature Norton Parrot perched on a large Floral Plume. Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior. Condition : There are some minor areas professional surface restoration noted, notably touch-ups along two vertical rim hairlines (front right & rear center); otherwise Very Good to Excellent with bold color. Note: both rim hairlines are still slightly visible on the interior (see close-ups). Moderate mineral/water staining noted on interior.

Displays brilliantly; highly appropriate for any collection of Americana or Antique Stoneware. See photos for complete details and close-ups. Please consider them as part of the description. Measures 10-3/8"H x 11-3/4"W overall with a base diameter of 10-3/4. The inner and outer rim diameters are 9-1/2 and 11-1/4, respectively.
