Large-size Cake Crock with profuse Cobalt Floral Decorations, 2+Gallon capacity, Mid-Atlantic origin, likely the Remmey Family Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, ca. Wheel-thrown, squat cylindrical form with heavily-incised shoulder and tooled, squared rim; applied lug handles on opposing sides. Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior. Body features a nearly continuous Floral Spray decoration all-around in the boldest of Brushed Cobalt: (12) tri-petaled blossoms emanate from a fan-like horizontal stem.

In addition, a freehand wavy line below both handles with cobalt accents highlighting each terminal. Condition : Very Good to Excellent overall with very strong color and fine decorations. Minor mperfections are noted below. Expected wear on the base, and upper rim, where a lid would rest.

Rim band with some nicks and chips, including a larger shallow, thumb-size rim flake near one handle, as shown. Some discoloration or staining on one side. Inherent glaze, surface and firing imperfections noted for descriptive accuracy. No cracks, repaired damage or restoration work.

This Keeper displays brilliantly and will feature prominently in your collection of Antique Stoneware or Americana. See photos for complete details and please consider them as part of the description. A large Cake; approximate 2+Gallon capacity. Measures 12-3/4W x 6-3/4H overall, including the handles.
