The White & Wood Pottery was opened in Binghamton, New York by Charles N. They made stoneware there until 1887, using the mark White & Wood/Binghamton, N.

So it was only a 4 year period that they made these type of crocks. Rare 4-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITE & WOOD / BINGHAMTON, NY, " circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird , perched on a leafy branch. Essentially as-made condition with some fry to cobalt. Crock measures 11 inches high and 11 1/2 inch wide. Couldn't find any chips or flea bites on outside. On the inside of crock couple of very small dings in which you can see by the pics Perfect addition to any collection. Great history These wooden thermometers are scarce.
