Beautiful advertising fruit preserves stoneware crock, dating from late 1800s through early 1900s. Cylindical body with sloped shoulder and a wire and wood handle threaded through the side lugs. Great condition printing on the front reading HOME MADE PRESERVES / MANUFACTURED BY / H. JOHNSON & CO / BOSTON, MASS. Includes a lid which I don't believe is the original lid as it doesn't quite seat down into the rim.

But it's a good match as you can see in the photos. Measures about 6 tall and 5 3/4 across the base. The top rim is 4 5/8 across.

Weighs a little under 2.5 lb. Its in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some fine glaze crackelature which appear to be age related and adds to its charm.
