Jug measures 7 diameter at the bottom, but widens as it goes up. Measuring from the base to the spout, it is about 9.5, " and 12" with handle.

I believe this is a gallon jug. For conditions, please review the photos closely.

Use magnifying tool or zoom in. I'm not an expert in grading conditions, but this antique jug seems to be in great shape for its age. There's a chip at the spout and crazing throughout. There are a few other very minor chips... You really have to look to see.

Remaining imperfections appear original to the jug. Other than described, there are no obvious signs of damage, cracks, or repairs. The metal part of the handle is in great shape and the wooden handle up top adds charm and character.

If you take a whiff, there is a sweet, sugary maple scent in the jug, which is quite nice actually! If you have any questions or would like to see more photos, please ask! According to the website, In the early 1900s, Williams Bros. Was one of the countrys largest makers of fruit preserves, mince meat, pickles and such. You could find its Waldorf and Dragon ketchups, Quebec maple syrup...

And other products throughout the country. Also known as Williams Bros.

& Charbonneau, was established in 1881, the factory was completed in 1899, and they incorporated in 1901. Overextended itself and the company went into receivership in 1916. Part of the factory is actually still around in Detroit!

If my research is correct, it seems perhaps Williams Bros. Were actually peddling cane sugar syrup as pure maple syrup.

Unfortunately, this kind of food product fraud was not uncommon in this era. I've read some pretty gross stuff about what different companies would pass off as ketchup or other condiments!
