Greensboro Pa Decorated Stoneware Crock

  

Listed is a rare and highly decorated 19th century w. This 4 gallon storage jar was made in the 1870's by the James Hamilton pottery for the dealer Samuel Cooper of Pittsburgh. Samuel Cooper pieces are known to have been elaborately decorated and this one is no exception. As you can see it's loaded with fine cobalt decorated stripes, vini g, stencilling and flourishing. Jar has a glaze only rear spider and a chip on the rim above the right handle that's repaired well...
