Large Burger NY Blue Decorated Stoneware Churn 19th cent
SIZE 17 3/4 inches tall. Unsigned but pretty clearly John Burger, Rochester NY.
Semi-ovoid form with fine quality blue floral slip decoration with that distinct Burger folk art panache. Huge decorative piece with great presence. Faint spider lines in the bottom (see photo 2). We shoot everything in indirect natural light to give the best approximation of reality. " But understand that "color is a subjective thing completely dependent on quality and intensity of light. Any color can and will look completely different when viewed under incandescent vs fluorescent vs natural light. Shop carefully and try to consider how something WILL look in its intended context.
