For your consideration is keg made of stoneware and decorated with blue bands. On the front, is a rectangle that is 1 3/4" X 4 1/4". In the rectangle is writing that says: NATIONAL PICKLE & CANNING COMPANY.

This company had facilities in Chicago & St. I have been led to believe that it was manufactured by White Hall Pottery in White Hall, Illinois.

Also, at the bottom of the front, is a protrusion (like they were going to put a spigot there, but thought better of it, before the hole was made). It has a height of slightly more than 13 1/4", the bottom has a diameter of almost 9" and it would use a lid of 7 1/2-8 in diameter. Pictures 10 & 12 are examples of what the interior and exterior are like. This stoneware keg is an old item that was used. It has 0 chips, however on the interior and the exterior, is a lot of crazing. On the ledge, that holds the lid, is a crack caused by the clay not being dry enough when fired in the kiln; on the inside, is a spider crack caused by the same reason. There are dozens of places where tiny air bubbles expanded & burst, because of the heat of firing in the kiln. It should have a carrying handle made of heavy wire, with a wooden hand grip and that is missing. Also, the lid is missing. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. It will be double boxed and well padded.
