Super clean, salt glazed 3 gallon lazy8 target crock. Super good example of lazy8 i(n my opinion). Artwork appears to be done pre glaze, meaning it's underglaze.

I just learned about this. Apparently, pretty glaze artworkmeaning it's underneath the glaze, and not painted on after it's been glazed. I've seen a few now, and I understand it now. When the painting looks to be bubbling up from underneath the glaze, this is why. It almost changes the color.

Always finding out something new every time I stumble upon a 100 year old something. Some people say Ohio made similar stuff. This appears as Red Wing as Red Wing comes. Other than minor chipping to the handle, the thing is immaculate.
