ANTIQUE 4 GALLON RARE STONEWARE CROCK WithHANDLES CLOVER MARKINGS

  

I have never seen this clover pattern but it is reminiscent of others with birch markings. The leaves of the clover seem to indicate the number of gallons. The markings are indicative of a pre-1810 model. It is ready to take the crowning slot in your crock collection. Some horizontal lines appear to look like cracks, but they appear to be a residual effect of the primitive glazing technique used.

I could not find evidence that they penetrate through to the inside of the crock (see photos for condition).
