Listed here is a circa 1870's cobalt decorated stoneware crock made by the pottery of James Hamilton of Greensboro, Pa. This straight sided crock has beautiful crisp stencilling and some freehand stripes. Solid crock with no cracks or repairs. A couple of shallow rim chips and a small inner rim chip.
Slightly out of round but virtual invisible from the front and sides. You can tell if you straight down on the piece. The color and contrast is a "10". Really a unique and attractive crock.
