BLUE HAND-PAINTED FLOWERS AND BRANCHES. This beautiful old jar was rescued from a deceased hoarder's attic in Olney, Illinois. It has some legible writing in dark grey/black letters on the front, towards the top.
It says " FOR "G" or "C", "E" or "F. The husband's and his mother's initials were C. The mother was born in 1885 and married in 1911. This may have been a gift for one of them, and the lettering may mean For C.
I don't know, but since Fort Dodge is a famous maker of salt glazed crocks, I thought the letters may be FOR_ _ _ _GE. Maybe someone can recognize the artwork. Please see pictures for condition.
It stands 6 1/4 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter across the bottom. There is a crack on the bottom, but it's hard to tell if it goes through to the inside. We honor our Lord Jesus Christ with our business and our lives.
