ITEM: Hard to find antique stoneware teapot-shaped Ice Tea dispenser crock, likely used in a Soda Fountain type General Store. Deep brown glaze and is embossed ICE TEA on the front. Has original working metal, push-button spigot with fitted lid and marked Made in U.
Buff colored stoneware clay, so likely from the Zanesville, Ohio area. Unable to find another one like this in any of our books or online, so safe to say rare. SIZE: Approximately 9.75" tall x 15" across from the edge of the handle to the tip of the spout.
Weighs 9 lb 12 oz before packaging. CONDITION: Free of chips, cracks, stains or repairs. Normal mold imperfections associated with early stoneware production including a factory original glazed over area where the spout meets the body. Holds liquid and works properly. May eventually need a new rubber gasket in spout to prevent leaking as the one it has appears to be original.
