This is a great antique salt glazed primitive stoneware crock/jar with thickly made lug handles. Has nicely decorative incised lines at top shoulder along with a salt glazed beautiful cinnamon beige color. A nice heavy stoneware piece as it weighs 6 pounds 11 ounces on its own.

It measures approximately 9 3/4 inches height, 7 inches bottom base diameter, upper rim outside diameter is 6 3/4 inches and inside opening diameter is 5 1/2 inches. It is in great original condition with no post production flaws. With that said this crock looks to have been utilitarian made with manufacturing flaws throughout.

These include color variations, glaze skips, kiln marks, dents in bottom underside base from kiln stackers, large salt glaze drip & one clay void on inside side wall. Crock has tremendous eye appeal, a one of a kind piece with all of its irregularities, with great form & unique thickly made lug handles!! This piece displays wonderfully with a great look!!!!
