WRIGHT & SON / STONEWARE / TAUNTON, MASS. Decorated 1-Gallon crocks from this manufactory are quite scarce; I have only seen a handful. See Internet for further information on the Bristol County pottery. Front features an elaborate Rose Bush motif in very bold, stenciled Cobalt.
Shiny, Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany Slip interior. Condition : Shallow chips & flakes on the outer rim, and one small nick on the right handle, as shown; otherwise Very Good to Excellent with strong color and clear, bold stencil. Typical surface, glaze and firing imperfections noted for descriptive accuracy.Very clean inside and out. No hairlines, cracks, repaired damage or restoration work.
