Antique Vermont pottery salt glazed crock #2, Two Gallon beautiful gray and cobalt blue pottery signed F. F is for Franklin Woodworth. The blue painted leaf motif is wonderful and the crock is in excellent condition. Please observe pictures carefully to see close ups as there is a nick and of course signs of it's age. It is quite heavy and the glaze is beautiful.
The crock has two small handles on each side. The interior is a black glaze. This is a very traditional crock of New England from long ago. A wonderful addition to your Antique pottery collection and will only appreciate over time. Nice piece to display in your entryway, living room, or anywhere in your house!
It was well taken care of from a Connecticut estate. These pieces are becoming more scarce as time goes by. I'm thrilled to be able to offer the his gorgeous piece of New England history. Measures 11" tall x 9.5" around.
These crocks were made in the 1800's and were used as storage crocks for sugar, flour, salt, butter churns, etc. Many of these crocks were decorated with blue designs such as flowers, birds, or plants in a factory in Burlington, Vermont.
