A large, antique Storage Crock with stenciled maker advertising, freehand stripes and other cobalt decorations, 6-Gallon capacity, Southwestern Pennsylvania origin, ca. A successful, wheel-thrown cylindrical form with tooled, rounded rim and applied lug handles.

In addition, each handle terminal is highlighted with heavy, brushed cobalt. Gray Salt-Glazed exterior; Albany or Mineral Slip interior. See Internet for further information. Condition : Expected utilitarian wear on the base and rim, including rubs, shallow chips, etc, as shown; otherwise in Very Good to Excellent, essentially as-made condition.Inherent glaze, surface and firing imperfections noted for complete descriptive accuracy. No cracks, repaired damage or restoration work. A super clean, commanding example that will feature prominently in any collection of Southwestern PA Stoneware or Americana.
