This is an original antique (mid-late 19th century) stoneware crock with salt glaze on the outside, Albany slip glaze on the inside, and cobalt flower decoration on the front. The handle edges have been decorated with blue as well. I don't know who made this crock but it might be a Wisconsin piece made by Charles Hermann & Co. Condition is very good considering age; there are absolutely no cracks anywhere, but there is one tiny chip on the top edge.
There is some discoloration to the clay (evident by the darker patches on the crock) but it is solid and sturdy and displays beautifully! The item "Antique Vtg Primitive Hermann Wisconsin 5 Gallon Stoneware Crock Cobalt Flower" is in sale since Thursday, May 27, 2021.
