Up for sale is a beautiful stoneware pitcher attributed to the Baltimore area potter's from the 1850's - 1870's. This is the small half gallon size which is very hard to find. Dimensions are 8.5" x 6".
The cobalt decoration on this pitcher is profuse, exceptionally strong and a rich dark blue. The condition is very good with two notes to mention. There is a professional repair to the left top of the spout (please refer to photos). The repair on the outside is a bit thin and could use a cosmetic glaze touch up only or just be enjoyed as it is. Additionally there is a very tight, almost undetectable hairline that descends down from the right side of the spout approximately 5 (please refer to photos). Neither effects the stability of the pitcher as it is very strong and solid. There are not other post factory condition issues to mention and IMO neither detracts from the beauty of this wonderful pitcher. In perfect shape, this pitcher would command a high price.I have priced it right to sell and be enjoyed by someone else. Thank You & Good Luck!
