Beautiful salt glaze stoneware crock from Hudson NY

  
This beautiful old stoneware 3 gallon salt glaze crock must be pretty rare because I have not been able to find out anything about who made it, even though it is clearly signed by E. The manufacture of salt glaze stoneware was discontinued in this country over 100 years ago. This has a chip on the bottom edge and 2 chips on the top, on the inside & outside of the rim.

There are no cracks, and it has the usual stains that old salt glaze usually has. Notice the artistry of the cobalt blue design, and the blue marks by the handles. It really belongs in a history museum in the Hudson NY area.
