Listed here is a fine and rare A. V Boughner Cobalt decorated stoneware crock.

This beauty was made by the Alexander Boughner pottery during his brief time as a potter in the early 1860's. These pieces are extremely rare and command high prices. The decoration on this is beautiful with crisp stencilled name and vibrant freehand brushwork. The vertical stripes are visually pleasing and not often seen.

On the right side from the top, there is a tight 4 line. A flake on the inner top and a flake off the right side rim. All are minor and the jar rings true and has no repairs. This is less than half that amt.
