Early 1895 1920 BLUE on BLUE Spongeware Butter Crock Stoneware Salt Glaze

  
Pictured is an uncommon & seldom seen blue on blue spongeware "Butter" crock offered for sale. The 2# crock has an irregularly-shaped smoke ring sponged decoration. It measures 4 1/4" in height, 6 1/4" in diameter, & dates from 1895 - 1920.

It's in very good condition with one chip on the front side base, no hairlines, no repairs. The light areas on the backside base are unglazed, bisque areas.
