Early 1895 1920 Sponged Yellow Ware Hanging Salt Crock Stoneware Spongeware

  
Pictured is a beautifully decorated sponged decorated yellow ware hanging salt crock offered for sale. The salt combines both olive green & tan colorations in an irregular smoke ring, wedding ring design. The salt measures 6" in height, 5 1/4" in base diameter, & dates from 1895 - 1920. As seen, the salt would have had a hinged wooden lid as a cover. Typical, the hinges have been rusted away by the stored salt. It's in excellent condition with a small flake on the inner rim & a small nick on the underside footer.
