Up for sale is an early Bennington Factory ovoid stoneware jar, made by Captain John Norton. This is considered the rarest mark of Norton family stamps. The jar has a couple rim chips to the top. A small one on side above ear. It has an X shaped hairline near side.
It does go through in a small area but is very tight. Cobalt blue decorated tulip on front. Below decoration is a tight Y shaped hairline that is surface only. Has a few in the firing contact marks.
