Early Blue & White Rainbow-Sponged Covered Pantry Crock Spongeware Stoneware

  

Pictured is a novel shaped covered spongeware pantry container offered for sale. This is but one of a few we have seen through the years with a cover, it has great eye-appeal!

The sponged-decoration is quite dense & includes both blue & brown sponging against an off-white background field. The tapered pantry crock measures 4 5/8" in overall height, 4 1/8" in base diameter, & dates from 1905 - 1925. Amazingly it has survived & is in immaculate condition with no nicks, damage or repairs.
