Cowden Harrisburg Brown Jug, Post Civil War. Condition is Used and near mint. Frederick was the son of John Wallace Cowden potteries in Harrisonburg, Pennsylvania in 1861.

Frederick worked briefly with his father at the pottery before enlisting into the Union Army for the Civil War. This is a 1 gallon brown jug clearly marked F. It's in excellent condition with only a few manufacturing flaws. The stoneware jug stands 11 inches tall by 7 inches across the base and I believe it is one gallon.

The handle comes off the mouth and is slightly crooked aligned with the body.
