This is a great Ovoid Jug. The kiln mark to the left of the "L" and the back right might appear to have been repaired, but if it was it wasn't done by our family or in the last 60 years that my parents, then I have had it. I never noticed the brush marks until posting.
The brown kiln mark on the back lower right has a pop and maybe that is was it was originally and they tried to get it out? Either way, It's an L NORTON and extremely old and rare.Norton Bennington Ovoid Stoneware Jug Made 1828-1833" is in sale since Thursday, February 23, 2017.
