The decoration is among the BEST I have seen. Deep, Rich, Profuse, and Superb! The tooled rim with rounded profile, above a bulbous body with 3 incised rings at the shoulder, above blue cobalt decoration consisting of 10 flower buds. And 10 sets/clusters of leaves encircling the entire crock. The ovoid body then tapers to a finely molded base.
Dating mid to late 19th century, approx 1850-70. Attributed to either Alexandria, VA or Baltimore, MD. Condition is Exceptional with only one tiny stone ping (see pic). Look at how deep the cobalt blue decoration is...Look at how much decoration there is.. Size: 10" high x 7-1/2" wide. Unusual to find in ovoid form. Worthy of the finest stoneware collection.
