RARE 1870's Verona, Pennsylvania stoneware merchant advertising crock. Measures approximately 9" tall and 6" wide.
Made into a lamp at some point in time. Not sure how the integrity of the advertising crock was affected as there is an attached wooden base attached to the bottom. I have not tried to take this lamp apart.
This advertising crock dates to 1875 and has stenciled cobalt advertising. CRIBBS & SON / DEALERS IN DRY GOODS, GROCERIES, AND ALL KINDS OF LUMBER / VERONA, PA'. Freehand cobalt stenciling is seen in the middle and on the right-hand side.
