RARE Inverted Maker's Mark Cowden & Wilcox Harrisburg PA. Stoneware Crock Cobalt
For your consideration is an antique salt glazed Stoneware Crock made by Cowden & Wilcox in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The crock is 8" tall, 8" wide at the top, and is the base is 6 -1/8 in diameter. It is semi-ovoid in shape. On the face is the nice Cowden & Wilcox floral done in deep blue cobalt glaze, hand applied. Above the floral is a clear makers stamp washed in blue as well which reads. This is a rare crock as the HARRISBURG, PA.... MAKER'S MARK IS INVERTED. Crock is in beautiful condition for it's age with some surface wear on the bottom and top edge, a few very tiny nicks here and there in the body of the crock and a few tiny chips on the inside, bottom.
