RARE SIGNED "G N F" (FULTON), ALLEGHANY CO. VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE CANNER. Ovoid Form with Shoulder with Three incised lines around the neck, Brushed COLBALT "G N F" in script between chain above, feather, leaf and flower decorations below signature. Unusual brushed "arrow" after "G N F".

LITERATURE: For a detailed discussion of Fulton see Hunter - Ceramics in America 2004, pp. 157 - 178, The Remarkable Stoneware of George N. 9 1/2" Tall by 6" in diameter. Condition: No chips, hairlines or cracks, but there are some small drips of white paint and specks outside and inside, see photos.

No cracks or hairline cracks. Some kiln damage to glaze. Other than the drips of paint this canner is in excellent condition.
