Stamped J. B. Magee, Osceola, Washington Co, Va Decorated Stoneware Crock

  

Here is a super nice signed "J B MAGEE" stoneware jar from Washington County, Virginia. The decorated Magee pots are scarce and this one is decorated on 3 sides with cobalt stemmed flowers and stamped 2 capacity. Excellent condition and would be a fine addition to any VA crock collection. Does have a large stone in the clay which adds character.

I don't think you will find a prettier one anywhere. Magee, hailed from Canada, but left his finger prints in clay along a trail from Vermont to Virginia.
